Utilisation de Pilote Nvidia

Bonjour a tous,
J'ai installé Manjaro en choisissant le pilote proprio (nvidia) et en me référent au Wiki j'ai utilisé la commande mhwd -l qui m'indique a priori que j'utilise le pilote libre... du moins c'est ce que je comprend

je comprend pas bien ce qui se passe et comment utiliser le pilote Nvidia, j'ai essayé d'installer avec la commande comme le Wiki l'indique avec la commande "mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300" mais voila le résultat :

Ce que je comprends est que tu utilise le pilote Nvidia, tu devrais avoir un utilitaire de configuration du pilote dans le menu. Tu as aussi le pilote video-linux installé de base et qui est libre mais pas actif.

Bonjour, les valeurs false et true correspondent aux réponses à la question "ce pilote est-il libre?" cela n'a rien à voir avec si c'est le pilote utilisé ou non.
Par contre, je ne pourrais pas t'aider plus sur quel pilote est utilisé par ta machine surtout avec le bazar des pilotes Nvidia (je suis sur AMD).

Je suis sûr qu'un utilisateur du forum pourras t'aider sur cette question

Ok,
c'est les valeurs false et true qui m'ont fait penser que j'utilisais le driver libre au lieu de celui de nvidia
Oui c'est un portable MSI PX60 et je devrais utiliser le driver hybride mais c'est pas le cas
par default je devrais etre sous Intel

Bon ben finalement j'ai réinstallé avec les pilotes libre ça évite que ça chauffe de trop... !!! et je vais attendre que les pilotes Nvidia soient mieux géré où plutôt quand je saurais les installer correctement :salut:

Moi, je ne suis jamais arrivé à faire fonctionner la carte Nvidia sur mon PC de 2012, trop vieux ou c'est moi le trop vieux.:rigole:
J'ai du écumer à peut prêt tous les wikis Linux sans y arriver, c'est ça qui me fait rester sous Windows / Ubuntu, là il marche.
D'un autre côté ça ne me dérange pas trop car il consomme moins comme ça, sous Ubuntu la bascule est automatique.
Alors ici ce sont le nombre de frames théoriques calculées par le processeur graphique, il est bien sûr impossible à un écran d'afficher autant de FPS, mais je considère plutôt ça comme un Benchmark.

Sous Ubuntu avec carte Nvidia:

attention au fait que lorsque glxgears donne une valeur de FPS proche de 60 ce n'est pas la vraie valeur permise par la carte graphique mais c'est dû au fait qu'il y a un paramètre qui synchronise les taux verticaux et horizontaux bloquant ainsi la valeur FPS à 60

Pourquoi la carte Nvidia monte beaucoup plus haut alors, il n'y a pas de synchronisation avec cette carte ?
Sous Ubuntu lorsque j'impose la carte Intel, la vitesse est également de 60 environ, mais proche de 10000 avec Nvidia.
Le ventilateur était à fond, ça prouve quand même que c'était bien la carte Nvidia sous Ubuntu, impossible sous Manjaro ?

Je pense que sous Ubuntu et Manjaro ce paramètre de synchronisation du défilement horizontal et vertical n'est pas réglé par défaut de la même façon.
Donc sous Ubuntu avec glxgears on mesure vraiment la différence de fps permise par les différentes cartes graphiques (la carte NVIDIA discrète est vraiment plus performante), alors qu'avec le paramétrage par défaut de Manjaro quelle que soit la carte on affiche toujours une valeur très proche de 60 fps.

Ce réglage par défaut est sans doute modifiable (mais je ne sais pas où) et je pense que pour mesurer la différence de performances graphiques il vaut mieux plutôt utiliser autre chose que glxgears qui est un peu sommaire et qui est bridé par ce paramétrage.
On peut aussi afficher de façon temporaire la vraie performance d'une carte avec glxgears en tapant la commande complète
vblank_mode=0 glxgears
et pas seulement glxgears. Je pense que cette façon de faire est la plus simple pour résoudre le PB posé.

effectivement ça consomme moins mais des que je suis sur des applis graphique type Gimp ou Krita la température monte le ventilo aussi.
quand je fais l'auto installation du driver proprio Nvidia/Intel Prime et bien la carte reste bloquée sur Nvidia et ça chauffe aussi et surtout le driver ne bascule pas automatique ment entre Intel et Nvidia pourtant c'est le driver hybride qui est installé
avec cette commande vblank_mode=0 glxgears les FPS monte de suite a plus de 8000 FPS

Je ne sais pas pour Krita, mais pour Gimp, tout se fait par le CPU, la carte graphique ne devrait pas être autant sollicitée.

il y a ici des informations complémentaire pour bien comprendre :
j'ai de mon côté une carte PCI graphique Nvidia depuis 2016 , cad date d'apparition des séries
960 - 970 - 980 , et des series qui vont suivre

Manjaro , depuis 2015 a 2017 était bloqué sur ces parties graphiques ( qui fonctionnait bien ) , sauf pour
Xorg et les drivers ATI , puis il y a eu une nouvelle serie de carte graphiques , et Nvidia a décidé
- de gérer d'une autre façon les drivers mobiles , des cartes PCI
les version de 340 a 380 garantissait une bonne compatibilité avec les anciennes cartes ,
puis est apparu le début de changement avec la série 390 , et celle qui vont suivre , sans garanti de compatibilité

côté driver hybride mobile , la traversée du désert :
- optimus n'était plus maintenu depuis 2012/13
- essayer des solutions optirun - prime-run , sans parler des soucis avec nvidia et glx
il ne reste que prime

pour aboutir a ce probleme en 2020 :
on avait jusqu'à 5 versions (340 - 350 - 390 - 440 - 450) mais tout cela avec
- les versions de noyau kernel , les version Xorg , le mesa , vulkan , wayland s'y ajoute , il a fallu réduire et conserver les versions qui fonctionne a ce jour

de cela il découle : la volonté de Nvidia de na pas avoir fait de driver linux maintenable dans le temps pour les anciennes cartes , les modèles portables 2014 ou moins sont donc les plus pénalisés car il ne reste que les drivers nouveau ( cad basique , pas possible de 10% de performances 3D , absence de gestion d'energie)

seul AMD a fait des efforts ( radeon , puis amdgpu) , mais une fusion en amdgpu n'a pas permis de résoudre tous les soucis au niveau drivers

Bonjour Stéphane,

Il serait donc possible que ma Nvidia fonctionnerait sous manjaro avec le pilote libre, mais avec un gain de seulement 10% par rapport à la carte Intel qui heureusement fonctionne sur mon PC sinon j'aurais un écran noir.
J'ai lancé la dernière installation en sélectionnant pilotes propriétaire.
Actuellement si je vais dans les paramètres matériels j'ai ça:

coté portable , voir sur les series CPU 4000x et 5000x pour amd ,
leur solution est plus performante que celle d'intel
