Problème Xorg/Gnome après MAJ

Bonjour,

J'ai fait les mises à jour qui venaient de sortir le 4 avril dernier et visiblement je n'aurais pas dû... :mrgreen:

Je vous explique le problème : je reboot, écran de login normal (GDM), je me connecte et là : écran noir avec juste la souris. Impossible d'afficher mon bureau.

J'ouvre donc un terminal (TTY 3) et tape

startx
mais j'arrive au même résultat : écran noir avec souris.

J'ai la dernière version du système, Linux 5, Xorg et Gnome 3.32 fonctionnaient avant la mise à jour.

Le fichier log de Xorg est ci-dessous (le fichier qu'il n'arrive pas à ouvrir à la première ligne existe bel et bien et a l'air OK).

Vu que Xorg ne marchait pas, j'ai essayé d'utiliser Wayland mais dès que j'ouvre une session wayland dans GDM il revient sur l'écran de connexion GDM au bout de 2 secondes (sauf pour weston qui fonctionne mais je vais pas aller loin avec ça) (j'ai pas trouvé de fichier log).

Est-ce qu'on peut faire refonctionner Xorg ou Wayland ou est-ce qu'il faudrait supprimer/réinstaller Xorg ou Wayland ?

as tu aussi vérifié dans la log ?

sudo journalctl -b0 -p4
essaye dans l'immediat

sudo pacman -Syyuu
et redemarre

Bon alors visiblement le problème n'est pas Xorg, mais Gnome. Je viens d'installer i3-wm et ça marche (en utilisant Xorg si je ne dis pas de bêtises).

Dans le journalctl j'ai plusieurs

org.gnome.Shell.desktop exited with code -1
et un

Unrecoverable failure in required component org.gnome.Shell.desktop
(j'ai plus le code exact sous les yeux là) ce qui confirme que le problème vient de gnome et non de Xorg.

La commande

sudo pacman -Syyuu
a mis à jour quelques paquets mais mon gnome ne marche toujours pas après redémarrage. :desole:

Une idée de ce que je peux faire ? Downgrader, réinstaller ?

Réinstaller, non. Mais il semblerait pour les éditions Gnome qu'il faille désinstaller certaines extensions.
Dans un premier temps, je te conseillerais de faire sudo pacman -Syyuu car certains paquets doivent être rétrogradés.

Au fait, j'ai fait cette mise à jour, tout marchait bien. Quelques jours plus tard, j'ai réglé une horloge mondiale, ce qui a fait planter gnome dès le redémarrage suivant, comme expliqué dans la version anglophone du lien de @lemust83.

Du coup merci à tous pour votre aide, j'aurais jamais imaginé que l'horloge serait la cause de tout ça.

Faut que je lise plus souvent les actualités moi :-D
