Installation d'un nouveau noyau (résolu)

Bonjour,
La dernière mise à jour m'a permis de voir que je n'ai qu'un seul noyau d'installé sur mon bel ordi.
J'ai tenté ce jour l'installation du noyau 6.1 => impossible de démarrer dessus.
J'ai tenté l'installation du noyau 5.19 et j'ai pas mal de messages d'erreur à l'installation.

Le noyau 5.15 fonctionne très bien mais je me dit que cela pourrait être problématique de n'avoir qu'un seul noyau (et puis si je peux avoir un noyau plus récent, je suis preneur... lol)

Je fais l'installation d'un nouveau noyau avec l'interface graphique de kde. Peut-être que mes problèmes viennent de là ? Une petite idée pour me faire avancer svp ?
(P.S : je me prendre peut-être aussi trop la tête car le PC tourne très bien sous le noyau 5.15).
Dernière modification par tos69400il y a 1 an, modifié au total 1 fois.

bonjour

Pas d'erreurs pour toi à l'installation avec ce 5.19, simplement tu as une alerte comme quoi il est EOL : en fin de vie.
Il risque donc de disparaitre de nos dépôts dans 10..30 jours

le 6.1 est une version RC, donc on ne l'installe pas comme noyau par défaut :wink: RC == expérimental

Si le 6.0 pose un problème, tu peux installer le 5.10, il ne sera là justement qu'en cas de problème avec ton dernier
Une fois que le 6.0 passe (ou le 6.1 devient stable), tu supprimes simplement le 5.10

Note:
perso, j'attends 5..6 versions avant d'installer un nouveau noyau
linux60 6.0.8, 8 versions c'est ok pour moi
linux61 6.1.0, beaucoup trop jeune, j'ai besoin que mon pc fonctionne

Sur tes conseils, j'ai installé le 5.10.154-1 qui semble fonctionner (j'ai juste testé le démarrage... lol)

J'ai tenté la version 6.0.8-1 qui ne fonctionne pas => je me retrouve avec un écran noir et pas mal d'écritures en blanc mais chaud de tout noter. A part prendre une photo, je pourrais pas retrouver ces infos dans un fichier afin de vous le soumettre ?

tu as la possibilité de voir dans la log ,

 
sudo journalctl -b0 , -b -1 , -b -2 ( 0 log en cours , -1 log démarrage précédent , -2 , etc ... )

Vu ta machine, le noyau 6.0 devrait fonctionner :saispas:

Comme indiqué par Stéphane, il nous (lui) faut les logs :
  • -1 Bouter sur le 6.0
  • -2 cette fois re-bouter sur un noyau 5 qui fonctionne
  • -3 lire/copier/coller les logs du boot précédent (-1)

    journalctl -b-1 --no-pager

Mdr ... Je ne peux même pas vous mettre le retour de commande tellement il y a de lignes : j'ai un message du forum indiquant que mon texte contient plus de 146000 caractères alors que le forum en accepte 60000.

dans un premier temps, tu peux ne donner que les erreurs -p4 (ici, le boot précédent -b-1)

journalctl -b-1 -p4 --no-pager
Sinon, il faut passer par des services web externe type "pastebin"

Comme le dit Stéphane, c'est à toi d'ouvrir un bug chez nvidia (pas manjaro ou archlinux)

En regardant sur le net, je vois que beaucoup ont déjà eu le souci sur différentes versions de Linux. Certains ont réussi à résoudre le problème ...

Pensez-vous qu'il me soit possible de tester des choses sous une machine virtuelle ? J'avoue que je suis pas chaud à prendre le risque de casser ma machine.

Bien sûr qu'il est impossible de tester dans une vm, une vm va justement utiliser son propre driver écran

Si tu désires tester des choses, le seul moyen serait d'installer sur ta machine une seconde manjaro à côté de l'existante. (Mais, dans un premier temps, ouvrir un rapport de bug/ ou un simple nouveau sujet dans leur forum me parait 100 fois plus simple que de se recompiler ces propres drivers)

J'ai eu une réponse sur le forum de Nvidia mais je crains ne pas la comprendre.
Il me faudrait modifier une option du noyau puis le recompiler ?

Mon anglais étant assez limité, j'avoue ne pas tout comprendre. Surtout qu'est ce qu'est le IBT ?

Pour ma question de noobs du début, j'ai compris qu'il faut modifier les options de boot du kernel en ajoutant l'option ibt=off

tu dois ajouter
ibt=off

a cette ligne GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=

sudo nano /etc/default/grub
sudo update-grub
complément pour ibt=off , cel a aussi impliqué une version mininum pour que l'on ait toujours une instruction ENDMBR pour le retour à appelant ( version minimum GCC + option complémentaire pour la compilation du noyau )

testé au boot ce jour et fonctionnel (je suis dessus).
J'ai juste fait la modif pour tester en passant par l'édition au démarrage (F4 + e sur le kernel concerné).
Reste à modifier le grub pour l'inscrire en dur et voir si tout roule normal. J'ai lu pas mal de bugs notamment en sortie de veille.
