Bon, je viens de faire la MAJ du BIOS via l'utilitaire EZ Flash 3 d'Asus.
Et j'ai retrouvé mon environnement graphique normal, avec le noyau 5.8 et le driver 440. (le 450 pose problème apparemment chez moi)

Je laisse comme ça pour l'instant ou faut-il encore faire quelque chose ?

J'ai parlé trop vite, ça recommence les freezes... puis me suis souvenu d'une chose : avec la MAJ du BIOS ç'avait dû effacer mes réglages précédents, Typical Current Idle et iommu, donc remis ces réglages.

Mais malgré cela, ça ne change rien, nouvelle freeze et plusieurs redémarrages successifs... puis par chance ça marche, je suis là de nouveau... quelque chose cloche toujours mais quoi ???

non tu n'est pas le premier a avoir des freezes ,
j'ai de mon côté un souci en Testing avec la montée Xorg et les drivers 450xx ( pb sur la mise en veille eco ecran et retour , Xorg plante )

je te conseille de rester sur la version 440xx si cela apporte plus de fiabilité

pas mal de personnes ont eu des soucis différents sur la mise a jour après 2 mois ,
on a a peu près tout qui arrive en même temps
Xorg - kernel - driver - gcc , il manque glibc et nous sommes alors tous des beta-testeurs

Bonjour stephane, ah OK c'est rassurant dans un sens... de ne pas se sentir seul :sourire:

Mais là maintenant, nouvelle galère... vers midi j'avais réussi à faire la nouvelle MAJ, le système avait tenu bon.
Au redémarrage, ça ne veut plus rien savoir... je tombe sur l'écran de connexion, j'entre mon mot de passe et puis clac écran noir, ai essayé plusieurs tentatives en vain...

(suis toujours avec noyau 5.8 et driver 440)

Bon, le driver nvidia 440 a été réinstallé avec force !!
Après reboot ça semble normal...

Il y avait des soucis avec ryzen, mais j'avais réglé le problème en mettant Typical Current Idle et iommu activé dans le bios, depuis ce jour j'étais tranquille. Mais hier ça a merdé quand j'ai voulu remettre le driver 440 à la place du 450.

Ta commande me donne :

ls /etc/modprobe.d/*
/etc/modprobe.d/mhwd-gpu.conf

Je viens de refaire la commande mhwd -li, c'est normal que c'est écrit false ?

sudo mhwd -li

l'affichage true/false provient de la colonne Freedriver
donc true est un Free driver , false No-free driver

Ben oui évidemment !! c''est un driver nvidia donc non-libre...

Ça a l'air d'aller maintenant, je pense que le problème est résolu, tout l'après-midi j'ai travaillé sur l'ordi sans souci.
J'ose passer en résolu.
